Peru Adventure

Peru is a country with some of the most spectacular and varied scenery in South America. The Peruvian Andes are arguably the most beautiful on the continent and the mountains are home to millions of highland Indians who still speak the ancient tongue of Quechua and maintain a traditional way of life. This tour will take you on a journey back through time to ancient civilizations from the spectaular Iguassu Falls in Brazil to the Inca Ruins in the Andes.

Return to Adventures.

The multiple layers of influence from a number of great civilizations make South America a fascinating destination.  Our itinerary will take you to the widest waterfall in the world in Brazil to the ancient Incan capital of Cuzco to explore its markets, ruins, temples and cathedrals. You will experience the Sacred Valley of the Incas and glorious Andean peaks as you discover  the hidden secrets of  the Inca Trail, visiting  many of its archeological sites and culminating in a tour of the vast ruins of the lost city  Machu Picchu.

Highlights

We start our tour in Buenos Aires before flying to Iguassu Falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. This is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. We also visit Lima enroute to Cusco where we explore Incan ruins before travelling to the Sacred Valley for a few days before our 4 day Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu. We complete our journey with a vistadome train journey through the Sacred Valley.

Note: For those who do not wish to trek the Inca Trail, we can organise a train to meet us at Machu Picchu.

Atacama Desert and the alternative Inca Trail - The Salkantay Trail are also options.

This tour is limited to a maximum of 14 participants to minimise impact on the fragile environment of the Inca Trail and to maximise group enjoyment.

Our Australian guide is trained in wilderness first aid and speaks reasonable Spanish. Our local multi-lingual guides are experienced in sharing their knowledge of ancient history, local customs and culture and guiding groups safely across the Inca Trail.  The food is first class as is the accommodation throughout the journey.

Our Peru trip is scheduled for May/June which is the best season for trekking in the Andes. At this time of year we take advantage of optimal weather and avoid the really busy time for tourists.

Next TriP:   May / June  2018

Dates may vary depending on optional extensions.

Please see our gallery for recent photos of this year's trip.
